The Monumental Collection, created during an artist residency at Luminaire Authentik in collaboration with artist Zeynep Boyan, reflects the company’s dedication to merging custom lighting design with artistic ingenuity. Drawing inspiration from ancient civilizations and the rich cultural heritage of pre-modern Turkey, this collection pays homage to the elegance and grandeur of classical architectural columns. Influences from Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Anatolian artifacts are reimagined into a modern lighting design.
Each fixture in the Monumental Collection embodies the enduring strength and beauty of classical forms, blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary craftsmanship. A defining element of the collection is the hand-sculpted knob, a signature of Boyan’s work, which enhances the organic nature of each piece. Crafted entirely by hand from stoneware clay, each fixture undergoes an oxidation firing process, is finished with hand-brushed glaze strokes, and is completed with Luminaire Authentik’s custom products, showcasing their artisanal approach.
